About Us

Why We Do What We Do

I have spent nearly 40 years in the construction and inspection industry and most of my life in customer service. My family and mentors taught me that the true value of a person’s life is measured by how well they serve others. That belief continues to guide my work today.

I grew up in a family of tradesmen and builders. While I learned a great deal early on, experience has taught me an important lesson: what we don’t know can matter just as much as what we do, especially when health is involved. As an Indoor Air Quality Inspector, asking the right questions is essential to properly serving clients. I genuinely love my customers and the work I do.

A few years ago, a close relative experienced a small electrical fire caused by an overheating furnace blower motor. Although the family escaped safely, the home was filled with dense smoke. What appeared to be a minor incident became the beginning of long-term displacement, financial loss, and severe personal hardship as they battled a homeowners’ insurance company on their own.

Concerned about hidden risks, I consulted with Americas Best Labs and arranged advanced testing using SIFT-MS technology. Independent sampling revealed significant toxic contamination in the air, HVAC system, wall cavities, insulation, and building materials, weeks after the home had been declared safe by an insurance-sponsored inspection. The home was, in fact, unlivable.

This experience led me to question the adequacy of standard fire testing and remediation practices. I began asking deeper questions about fire-related toxins, VOCs, heavy metals, changes in air chemistry, and whether common protocols truly protect homeowners and their families.

Volunteer PPE Environmental, LLC was founded to close that gap.
